History of Statistics Korea Library

The Statistics Korea Library, the largest statistical library in Korea, provides domestic and international statistical publications, training textbooks and research reports.

2012 ~ 2005
  • 2010 The Statistics Korea Library, the Seoul Library and the Statistics Center Library are all under the General Services Division of Statistics Korea.
  • 2009 Statistical Training Institute Library opened in Statistical Center
  • 2005 The organization of the library changed to the General Services Division and the Seoul Library was renamed to the Seoul Library and Public Service Center.
1988 ~ 1990
  • 1998 The library in Kyeongwoon-dong was relocated to Nonhyeon-dong according to the relocation of the Seoul Statistics Office.
  • 1998 The library located in Yeoksam-dong was relocated to Government Complex Daejeon according to the relocation of the NSO.
  • 1998 The library in Kyeongwoon-dong was renamed to the Seoul Library of the Seoul Statistics Office.
  • 1998 Closed a statistical data room in Gwacheon Government Complex
  • 1995 Opened a new library in Yeoksam-dong building according to the relocation of the National Statistical Office on Oct. 30, 1992
  • 1994 Opened a statistical data room in the basement of Building 5 Government Complex Gwacheon
  • 1990 The National Bureau of Statistics was enlarged and renamed as the National Statistical Office (NSO). And the library was under the Data Management Division, NSO.
1975 ~ 1970
  • 1975 The organization of the library changed to the Data Management Division in the National Bureau of Statistics, the Economic Planning Board
  • 1970 The library opened under the Economy Division in the National Bureau of Statistics, the Economic Planning Board to collect statistical publications and support statistical production
